export tiff
« on: October 08, 2010, 10:20:35 AM »
Hi everyone,

I have a problem with exporting images. I insert .tiff file using the picture icon and add other objects, but when I export it as .eps or .pdf the .tiff picture does not appear on the exported file. I only see the other objects, such as lines, text and so on, but the .tiff picture is missing... Did you have similar problem? Could you give me some advice?

in case you are interested in this topic...
I still have problem with tiff file, but if I insert the picture as jpg or png or eps file it is exported as eps without any problems. By the way gif does not work as well as tiff. If you will figure out how to export tiff pictures as eps, let me know. However I guess I will use jpg if it works.

WinFIG is using the Qt framework and can load and export image formats supported by Qt. I would have to check in the Qt documentation, but I think TIFF is not supported. However, I recommend JPEG for photographs and PNG for schematic or black&white pictures. That should cover all needs.
